ONEZ reason for using WordPress

This post was last updated by José of onez on Wednesday, 29 January 2025.

I started building websites somewhere in 1995, writing HTML in a text file editor… then started using HotDog HTML Editor, which was launched in 1995. Shortly after, in 1996, CoffeeCup HTML Editor, one of the first HTML visual editors, was launched. Back then, we used Yahoo and Altavista as search engines. They were more like pages full of information, like a crowded newspaper, with a search field at the top. When Google was launched in late 1998, all my small sites got indexed pretty well until I started playing with Flash and DreamWeaver from Macromedia, the most advanced visual website builder back then…

CMSs That Changed the World of Web Development

Then Mambo appeared as the first open-source CMS. In 2005, Joomla was released as a fork of Mambo, and it became my one and only favorite CMS, which I used to create my first web consulting company, Lojawebsite, in 2008. It was my favorite CMS until 2015, when I thought Joomla wasn’t enough for my business. So, I decided to develop a custom website. I hired a computer engineer for three years to help me create the website from scratch while I managed the company, a sales team, and the clients. When I turned off the site in Joomla, which had nearly 30,000 visits per month, and switched to the customized site, I realized the mistake I had made. The computer engineer left to live in the USA, and all the developers I reached out to had the same opinion—we had a “spaghetti code in hand.”

WordPress allows to concentrate in important business tasks

There is no way a small team of developers can produce similar or near-similar web solutions for advanced websites with custom code. Simple websites, I believe, can be done, but when things need to get done, when functions need to be implemented, and when companies grow, websites need to keep up with the pace. That’s why after spending 3 years developing our latest website and migrating all our websites in 2017, I grabbed WordPress with my life since 2019 and started learning and adapting to WordPress with all the previous PHP & MySQL knowledge I had. After tests and tests, myself and our team can build all the solutions we need… like an efficient professional website and we love it!

Easy peasy time saving WordPress

So, I consider WordPress a very good website development solution, with the flexibility to create unique and tailored websites. Its user-friendly interface makes it easy for clients to manage and update their content without needing advanced technical knowledge. It’s scalable, customizable, and backed by a large community of developers ready to help… in case you get fed up with us…

So, now you know why ONEZ recommends wordpress…

My level of confidence with WordPress

9.6

I consider WordPress to be a very user-friendly platform. Although the learning curve to go from basic to advanced is long, it is possible with just a few years of programming experience and background. The main problems are loading speed when there are many features, the vulnerability created by the use of less secure plugins, the growth of information without an appropriate information architecture, and its use for functions that are not specific to the platform… but with some experience, these issues are easily resolved. With several years of WordPress experience, I continuously improve and create even better, high-quality, unique, top-notch projects every day.
