In 2019, Guilherme stood watching his favorite surfer, Kanoa Igarashi, after finishing his own surf session at Peniche Supertubos on October 25. At the same time, Kanoa was heading into the water for his sunset training session. The next day, he won his heat and advanced to the semi-finals of the 2019 MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal at Supertubos in Peniche, Portugal.
… a story in my mind…, and looking at the photos brings it all back. In October 2019, my family and I went to watch the 2019 MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal at Supertubos. Being at a sports event with good waves and a fun, healthy vibe is always exciting. We watched the competition while sitting on the warm sand, surrounded by colorful, young people. Sometimes, we’d take breaks for snacks, surf-related games, or visit surf shops… and Front-beach restaurants. How cool is that for an 11-year-old… and for the parents too? 🙂
