What is a Luxury investment?

This post was last updated by José of onez on Tuesday, 28 January 2025.

Luxury investments are, above all, solid, exclusive assets that are not accessible to everyone. They can preserve your liquidity and even increase in value over time.

In my opinion, the most valuable luxury investments include:

  • Luxury Real Estate
  • Fine Art
  • Luxury Businesses
  • Startups
  • Jewelry and Diamonds… although diamonds have had their peak, but that’s just one opinion!

And why don’t I refer to luxury yachts or private jets? They can also be valuable investments, if you know how to take care of them!

Luxury toys are not investments… but became good luxury business

Luxury yachts are indeed a luxury investment… if all the stars align. In the right marina, or close to the right luxury residential area or city, a small luxury yacht of 80 feet can rent for over €12,000 per day. This can cover 100% of its investment in just a few years—if bookings are consistent, operating costs and maintenance are well-managed, and docking fees don’t eat up all the profits. Bigger luxury yachts can sometimes rent for over €50,000 a day. However, to achieve this level of income, they need to be rented out for the full season and follow demand across continents, moving between high-demand locations like the Mediterranean in summer and the Caribbean in winter.

How about Private Jets ?

Private jets have a similar dynamic. Charter rates can be lucrative, but high operating costs—like fuel, maintenance, and hangar fees—make profitability challenging.

Can we consider these a luxury investment? Perhaps. But in reality, they might be better described as luxury businesses that require careful management

I’ve Heard That Bitcoin Is a Good Investment… Can It Be Considered Luxury?

It’s just a currency !
In recent years, new digital currencies, like Bitcoin have emerged, which many consider to be investment opportunities. Advocates of digital currency often describe Bitcoin as a medium- and long-term store of value due to its limited supply and historical performance. Historically, until 2025, Bitcoin’s value has shown significant growth over most 5-year periods, though its volatility remains a point of discussion… It has transformed many investors into new millionaires… However, whether it is considered a luxury investment can be a bit subjective.

We’ll discuss this luxury topic here at with experts in the field ONEZ, in the near future.
