ONZE upon a time, back in 2007, when the internet was just starting to take shape, before I started my first website building company, I had an idea… “- what if I could create a website that could help local businesses promote their stores online?”… but only for the ones people could visit by walking. So, I registered my first domain, ruadaslojas.com. But, as with all new projects, I needed help to develop that idea. So…
… to get help, and specialized help, i need money
So if I needed money, I thought that the best way to get money was to help others first… so I founded LojaWebsite, my first web development company… I started building professional websites, and one of my first successful projects was for a friend who owns a veterinary clinic in Vilamoura… his website could be improved, so I convinced him to change the domain… “- Bruno, you need to get clinicaverinaria.pt… it will consolidate your clinic’s brand as a reference in Portugal…” and he believed me… along with some SEO strategy, content creation, photography, and good site architecture, he went from fewer than 100 visits a month to a staggering 12,000 visits per month.
After one consolidated success project, keep on going
And things got on with my web development project, more clients came, I started investing my money into domains… more business areas, more new clients for web development… from Mercedes Benz car dealer, to real estate agencies, optic online stores, online toy stores… I even went to Brazil to bulk buy bikinis and opened my own online bikini shop… I did it all… until I got a Quinta do Lago real estate client… that in 2010 went bankrupt… and just left Portugal… before I had the chance to deliver my finished real estate website…
Beginning of the Real Estate Agency Story
and moral of the story… it’s 2010, I have a finished real estate website that took me months to develop (with Joomla), I had an office in Quinta do Lago (my father’s), I was young and had enough money. What was missing? The right domain… and what could be considered the right domain? If I was living in the Algarve, if, when I looked up to think, I saw planes of foreign investors heading towards the airport (Quinta do Lago is close to the airport)… when I say planes, I meant private jets—small, beautiful ones… the kind that makes us dream of where they came from or how they managed to do it… So, what would be the correct domain? Trtrtrtrtrtrtrtrtr (this “trtr” is the sound of drums… it was the best I could find!). AlgarveRealEstate.com… the domain was also the best I could find back then,… and it was just perfect!
It’s official, people now are usign our services for property search
In 2012, algarverealestate.com came up, and as you can imagine, it went pretty well. By 2014, my wife and I were already a perfect team. With her financial background since 2001 at Millennium Bank and Deutsche Bank, she really loved the real estate market. She enjoyed visiting the properties and dreaming about those big villas! She also values freedom – who doesn’t?! For me, it was perfect; I could stay behind the computer, where I’m good at, continuing to develop and invest in domains… and in 2014, I won the auction and took action with lisbonproperty.com, the website that would become the next big thing in luxury real estate in Portugal.
Lisbon Property was born
After launch, lisbonproperty.com started as our extension into real estate in Lisbon but quickly evolved into a partnership after some of the biggest real estate companies began hearing about it and making partnership offers. The goal was to develop a web solution that could significantly increase the capture of organic leads through an international web strategy.
Currently, Lisbon Property has offices in Lisbon, Cascais, Parque das Nações, Estoril, Comporta, and the Algarve. With the support of a team of graphic designers, photographers, and writers—including a renowned historian—we are developing a tailored information strategy focused on the cities, towns, villages, and key landmarks of Portugal. All content is curated by our team.
